I am looking to buy a Canon EOS digital camera and taking into account the D7 and D50, who buys and why?

If you have another suggestion that's fine, but that has to be a Canon Eos, so you can change the lenses between that and my film camera. Thanks!

I think really means the 50D and 7D … I own the 7D and 40D had the (almost identical to the 50D) before it. I currently shoot the 7D and 5D Mark II.
