Best Canon Lenses For Wedding Photography
What Canon camera is best for me?

I'm looking to upgrade my current camera / lens and I would like opinions on what camera would be best for me. will be used primarily for wedding photography. I mean the Canon 7D with 15-85 kit lens? Is this camera too good to you? .. Like I honestly get the same results as the 50D or 500D? Also what canon lenses can you recommend as the best road for photography wedding? Thanks!

OK, without being judgmental or punishing anyone, the first question is that Canon DSLR body and lens are you using now? If you are shooting a kit lens 18-55mm, you need to upgrade your vessel before you upgrade your body. And for what it's worth, the final results are less about the camera and much more about his mastery of composition, light and time to be in the right place at the right time. If you are updating the body, it is a decision based on how where the camera will improve your workflow. Many professionals 1D/1Ds compact cameras not only for the quality of the image (easily matched by the 5D Mark II more cheap), but also because the cameras are faster and can customize the camera to meet their specific needs instead of working with the limitations of the camera. The bread and butter for wedding photographers lenses Canon digital SLR shooting are f/2.8L USM EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM and 70-200mm (IS-IS or not version). My shot of us crop camera body like a 40D or 7D may use the EF-s 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM instead of the 24-70mm f/2.8L because the 17-55mm offers a field of view similar to 24-70mm on a full-frame digital SLR. In any case, the ideal has at least two camera bodies, one with and one 17-55mm/24-70mm with 70-200mm. An important reason for glass that allows faster shutter speeds lower the ISO, which helps preserve picture quality. The launch in something as opposed to 200 ISO 400 ISO and you'll see what I mean when viewed at 100%. This is not what we needed to adequately cover a wedding, but gives you an idea where to start. I'm not saying to skip the 7D. Have certainly enjoyed mine so far. However, it seems that its priorities, knowledge and experience are a a little off and 7D can not deliver the performance they want from their investment. I would not use a 500D for nothing more than a backup camera chain or personal 3rd/4th travel. But regardless of which agency you choose, you need a quote for glass much better than the kit lenses if you are serious about make people who pay to shoot their weddings. I am not a professional and although I have been asked to shoot several weddings, I specifically declined because I felt like memories precious were the exclusive domain of people with much more experience and vision than me.

Gear! Part 2 – good to have in stock

I wrote to the lens in detail in my last shipment, and now I want to talk about some accessories are so wonderful to have while I'm doing wedding photography. Here is a quick but comprehensive list:

Memory cards tons of them: My biggest 8GB are, I recommend showing your images across multiple cards, because if your card 16GB or 32GB bites the dust with all its images, you'll be in tears. I do not want. The Reflection Group Photo Pixel Pocket Rocket is the best way I found to achieve them. Besides the name is funny.

Tape Guy: Imagine tape without waste, to a much higher price. This band works well in almost anything, and I've used for almost anything. Have a roll of tape in hand is how to keep your knife in the pocket of confidence: you never know when they need it, but when you make them happy.

Gitzo tripod head oriented: You need a tripod Nice, and this carbon fiber, which is easy on the back. The large head is also oriented, which allows very finely tuned adjustments that are not critical for weddings, but also for almost all of my other work.

Canon Cable Release: get one of these! They are great to reduce camera shake when you have your camera on a tripod, I use one for most of my portraits and especially for the formal sector family.

Kenko Extension Tubes: Do not have a macro lens? Buy this at affordable prices, and can use any of your lenses shooting near a beautiful wedding ring. I do a lot of food photography with these too.

Canon TTL Flash Cable: It is always good have, if you have the IR emitter that are even better. I'll probably bite the bullet and just look. Or maybe you want to make me a gift birthday?

PocketWizards: One of my best investments. These little guys are reliable, last forever, and are a must-have if you use strobe lighting. We use them to trigger wireless flash photography, family portrait, and also the light-on-a-stick-with them at the reception. I did not try new products like the market, but I know that PocketWizard has always worked well for me.

Canon 580 EX two. The horses are well. I have had for years, and not quitting. Shooting For weddings, it is imperative that you can run Flash Nice head. While flash is set to fire single will be cheaper, but can not give flattering light. Do not use direct flash if you can help!

LumiQuest Pocket Bouncer: I used one of Lightspheres for years, and the loss of several of them. They give you a soft light, but not give you much power from your flash. When shooting a wedding, speed and fast recycling time is very important, and in my opinion, the fact LumiQuest just that. I like the light coming from him, is the next best thing to do around a light box. point of great price.

XS chimera or a flash of light box Photoflex: We use our light on a stick, because I still have harsh shadows. They help to soften a bit.

Finally, the Manfrotto monopod. These are great because you can use to keep constant throughout the filming of the ceremony marriage, and maintain their mobility, and then use them to light during the reception. In addition, if you're in a bad part of town are ultra threatening, I would not be surprised to see a group of photographers carrying the bike in the city for some time. Please send pictures if you see it.

Well, that summarizes the second part of my team, so we'll get a strobe light, and I will soon!

The Canon 50D vs Canon 7D?

What is the best camera for wedding photography / Portraits / all-day shoot. I was Research in both chambers closely and really can not decide. I love the video capabilities of the Canon 7D, but I consulted some photos taken with him and Amazon has not been as happy as I was with the pictures of the 50D on Amazon. I will use the device Photo profssionaly end of the wedding and portrait pupose, but still looking for love to take nice pictures for fun. Could someone help me please. And the types of lenses that work best with two bedrooms, if you owned one or the other. Thank you very much.

I am Olympus mind and a high ISO to deal with all the time. I know that many 50D owners quickly turned to the 50D and 40D, as it uses the same sensor and 50D of the Child has more quality, because MP / pixel tweaks? I think that's the word on the comments and observations. Whatever you decide, If you go to weddings, you should have backups of everything. I have three boxes, two of them are the same, the lightning backup, ropes, etc. Just do not go to a wedding with a camera, a flash and a lens or two.
