I'm studying photography HDR so a wide angle lens is very important Thanks = D.
Do not take pictures of the landscape myself, but a point I'd make is the 10-22mm is an EF-S. That's fine for the 40D but will restrict your choice of organs if you choose to upgrade in a couple of years as fhotoace suggests, unless you sell the lens at the same time. You may also want to consider the 17-40mm F4L because it is a very compatible EF with the full range of Canon digital SLR and be one of the L series have better weather sealing, but is not nearly as wide as 10-22.
