What goal should I get?

Do not even have a kit lens for my Canon Rebel XT! HOWEVER … I'd like to know more close (macro?) And further (TV?) Is there a lens with a wider range of 18-55? Or should achieve two objectives? Thank you. I would like links, because I probably will buy online.

Like Jim said, the objective 18-200mm is very versatile. You from having to change lenses often. It might be expensive for you, but you will not be disappointed with the results. Do not know much about macro, but the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 is a very objective recommended.

What is the best place online to learn about SLR photography?

I only used one of the friends appliances Digital SLR for some time, but I'll buy a Canon 350 or 450 for my lenses plus an extra pair and I would find my purchase information before use, tips, etc.
