SLR cameras!?

I am interested in getting an SLR camera, but the options are plenty and I really have no idea what good for me! Nikon / Sony / Canon and also, could someone explain the uses of different lenses (35mm, 55mm, etc)? thanks! : D

If you are interested in the SLR I hope to recommend a model of Fuji FinePix S. I know many people want the professional look without the professional knowledge. I have a Model S5100 and use it often. I found 200 on ebay. If you really are interested in an SLR camera I recommend buying a cheap film camera. I have Canon EOS Rebel a $ 50 new on ebay. nothing wrong, except the flash and includes an external. It will be a great mutual fund me.
