What digital SLR camera should I buy?

I'm looking to upgrade my camera as I am "my feet wet" in the community microstock. Photography is one of my hobbies and I enjoy challenging myself to insect macro shots (close ups) and vaccines targeting specific community microstock with a wide range of purposes. I am torn between the Nikon D80 and Canon's XTi. I like the idea of dust from Canon, the transfer of sensor cleaning system seems so delicate and in the absence of a better word, fear me. Thatboth cameras do understand each other and comparable to the Nikon seems to have a better range of lenses that are compatible with versions above which is good if you come across one at a garage sale. Should I worry about cleaning the sensor? How often do I have to clean the sensor and if it takes what is the cost of doing that? I am open to all opinions to help me make this decision and if there is another camera that should be considered, please speak up! Thanks in advance!
