I just bought a Canon digital camera sd600 elph what is the process of downloading photos to your computer?

I know to install the software then I connect the camera and then download.After that I need to charge battery. Do I have to erase the memory chip and how would I do that.Thanks for any help on this.Can I purchase a larger memory chip to take more pictures or is the chip that came with it sufficient?

ok ur question is complicated but i can answer it

u do NOT need to install those softwares…all u need to do was plug the usb in place to the computer. now go to MY COMPUTER and find it…(sumthing like g drive or f drive or h drive).now go in and then it u want more space just delete them there by right clicking on the photo and delete.

Okay so my sister gave me a camera which is a canon powershot sd630 digital elph.

Frankly, you’ll be better off not bothering with the software. The computer software for your camera is clunky and very limited at best. You will be better off using a flash card reader to download your images quickly and easily into your computer and any simple digital editing program to prepare your images for e-mailing and printing.
If you have a relatively new computer, you may have combination flash card readers built into it (many newer computers do) that will fit your flesh card. If there is not one built into your computer, they can be had at very reasonable prices from almost any store which sells cameras or computers. If you have to buy a plug-in flash card reader, I suggest you bring along your camera or the flash card from your camera when you buy it to make sure you get the right size card reader.
