The Canon A470 is an entry-level camera that has been designed specifically keeping in mind the need for compact and simple cameras in this world. The camera has a 3.4x optical zoom and a 2.5 inch LCD display which enables even new users to click good quality pictures with ease. The camera uses SD/MMC/SDHC memory cards. However, even the most perfectly designed cameras can have a rendezvous with trouble from time to time. Some problems may even cause the stored photos card to get deleted or lost. At such times, if one does not have an access to a valid back-up, then you can always turn to a Picture Recovery software to salvage your data.

The most common instance of this is when you immediately switch off your camera after taking pictures. The next time you turn it on, you cannot access any of the pictures saved in your memory card. One encounters a similar kind of problem when trying to upload pictures from the camera’s memory card to the computer after turning the camera off abruptly.

Cause:

The cause behind the inaccessibility of your pictures is that you switched off the camera right after clicking pictures. When we click photos, the camera writes them to the memory card. This process takes time depending on the size of the file being written. During this process if the camera is switched off, the process is interrupted and the card then gets corrupted. Photos thus become inaccessible.

Note: Always switch off your camera after few minutes of clicking the pictures.

Resolution:

To resolve the issue, you will need to format the card. Format the card in the camera itself. Then use a Photo Recovery Software to recover all your lost photos. Digital Photo Recovery can easily be done using a trusted third-party tool, the selection of which should be done carefully and cautiously.

These software scan the storage media and recover all the lost information from within. It makes use of the fact that data is stored on multiple locations in the hard drive. Therefore even when the drive is formatted, specially designed software can recover the data from the hard drive.

Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery is a Digital Photo Recovery tool which can salvage data from corrupted or formatted partitions. The software supports almost all popular proprietary RAW file formats such as CR2 and CRW (Canon), NEF (Nikon), SR2 (Sony), etc. It has an easy-to-use Graphical User Interface (GUI) which enables even amateurs to recover data with ease.

Scaling photos with Canon 20d eos digital camera?

I am trying to take photos in a specific ratio size to increase workflow for a our cataloging sessions for the internet. Our inventory display software requires that the photos be uploaded in 640 by 480 format. We do have a Batch image resizer through Photoshop but it would be so much better if we could take the photos in this size. I cannot find anything about this being an option for the Canon EOS 20D. The minimum size is far larger (and different ratio) than the size I need. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thank you in advance Tyler

Unfortunately, there is no option for the 20D to shoot in this low resolution. Also, the APS-C sized sensor is a different aspect ratio and the camera was never designed to do any kind of cropping or resizing operations. The thought was probably that Photoshop and similar apps do a much better job with their resizing algorithms than the relatively meager processor on the 20D could manage, which is really intended as an image capture device, not a image editing/manipulation one. Those features are found on a few lower quality digital cameras, however.
