Which brand has the best digital SLR cameras, Nikon, Olympus or Canon?

I am looking to buy one soon. I'm leaning more towards school because my Nikon has them, I have used is very good, but I will not buy without looking at others. The websites they arent exactly helping. It will be for professional use. Do not want to be spending more than $ 1,500. I will also be using manual configuration.
