Nikon D40 or Canon EOS Digital Rebel Xti?

I am looking to start a higher level of photography and am looking to buy an SLR camera digital will start what can become a passion or career I have found two in my price range and have appealed to me so far. Are obivously the Nikon D40 and Digital Rebel Xti Eos. I have read comments encouraging but so far I'm a little inclined to charge by the inability of Nikon autofocus, so that owners critical or do you consider yourself the best camera, please list pros and cons

According to several sites I've visited the Nikon D40 has been discontinued. You can still buy a new one at B & H. The D40 was introduced in 2006 to date technology compared to the Canon XTi which is also a discontinued camera, having been replaced by the XSi. http://www.bhphotovideo.com any camera would serve their needs. Only handle both and decide which one feels better in your hands. Only remember that lenses are investments. digital SLR camera bodies are not.

Any photographers out there? Need help purchasing my first digital SLR camera?

Ok, so I really want a device Digital SLR but there is much to choose from. I looked in a 1000 survey of different camera, but I can not decide. This are probably my favorite Sony A300 or Canon EOS 450D DSLR. But I do not know what is the best, or if there is someone better out there, is that price range like the others I mentioned. I would appreciate any help! Thank you.

Before we begin let me remind you to buy the online retailer's reputation as beachcamera.com, bhphoto, buydig, Adorama, Ritz Camera, J & R, Amazon, eBay, etc. NO. There are dealers good reputation on eBay, however, also has many "gray market" versions cameras, which are essentially non-US versions. Look around Sites I said to get the best price. Remember to check resellerratings.com and BBB.org see the seller's reputation. There are many crooks online these days. I would take to purchase a site that has resellerratings positive and / or rule of the BBB. Another thing that never forget regardless of megapixels is not a marketing tool. Any photographer will tell you not megapixel nothing to do with image quality. Unfortunately, many people think that the mega pixels the better camera. Megapixels above 5 or 6 is more than adequate in most cases, but those that are useful for making prints GREAT. Fortunately, most devices today are at least 6 Therefore, do not worry mp. Looking only remember watching Optical zoom zoom. Digital zoom means nothing. If you want to take another photo immediately after to take, point and shoot prosumer digital SLR and are better in this compact camera (point and shoot compact point and shoot prosumer DSLR is explained below). So if you take a lot of things in motion, or sports, you may need a prosumer point and shoot or digital SLR. However, most compact point and shoots these days can do very well in this too, but not as good as an SLR would. Of course, you lose the compactness, but a compact prosumer point is a bit more serious, and then, of course, a reflex Digital and strictly for amateur photographers. Here are my general suggestions in each range of cameras, organized in groups of three point compact and shoots, buds and point "prosumer" (basically so more and more important point and shoot) and digital SLR. These are three different types of cameras on the market these days. In general, remember, is the photographer images more pleasant and professional that makes the pictures "professional". An amateur will get better results with a point and then shoot them with a digital SLR camera. You spend time learning photography, taking composition lessons to better understand and take pictures with their cameras. That this, here are my suggestions for each of three different types of cameras on the market. 1) compact point and shoot: This credit card size smaller than most cameras nowadays people think of when they think the cameras available at any electronics store or not. Very portable and stylish. I would say that this is the way forward if you're a casual photographer and take pictures when out with friends, or walking, etc. At the time of shooting and I would suggest compact Canon SD 880 is (are gold and silver). This is one of the best point and cameras to date and costs about $ 250 I think. The other good, which is like an update the SD 880 is Canon SD 970 IS. This one costs a little more. The reason to think that these two is that Canon compact point and epidemics that are the best are in this class, and these two stand there other models because of its 3-inch LCD and optical zoom good enough. Like most people who use the point and shoot cameras do not use the screen, these models get rid of this and put a large, vibrant 3 "LCD in place, a good decision. They also have many functions that are more casual photographer needs. Take a look at Canon's site and buy from reputable dealers. 2) Item and shoot Prosumer: These cameras offer more manual control of point and shoot and have more zoom. They are a little more advanced than the typical point and compact cameras. It will also bulk carriers and more expensive, around $ 400-600. If you are considering and that you REALLY want good zoom compact overview of these points and cameras "prosumer" comes with 20x zoom compact, while households tend to have the point 3-5X. If you consider the compact point and shoot and they are a bit more serious about their photography and you want more manual control, I suggest to consider as well. In this class of cameras, I suggest Sony or Canon or Canon HX1 G10 SX1 IS. These three are excellent, you can compare yourself to see what you like. 3) DSLR: This is your camera in a serious way, with goals interchangeable. These will cost a lot! They have interchangeable lenses, and provide flexibility and creative control. When purchasing those you buy a system and develop it with life by purchasing more goals on the fly, flashes, tripods, etc. etc. Just one of the glasses cost more expensive than what is the point and shoot, so not cheap. The photography is not cheap. Not only look at the price of the camera body for buy an SLR. Digital SLRs are expensive because you buy a system. The lenses are important for the body and is good glass bodies lottt more. The bodies are not important, you can always upgrade, but lenses are forever. Here are my recommendations for digital SLR cameras. Prerequisites: If you are a beginner, I suggest this and then after you learn everything you can upgrade if you feel it necessary. I also suggest taking a photography class at the local university. My suggestions for this range are Nikon D40, Canon Rebel XS (about $ 500 or less total lens kit) DSLR Middle level: Canon XSi or New T1i ($ 700 for xsi, T1i $ 900 with kit lens). I prefer the Nikon, but Nikon D60 also has its D5000 and you may want to worm-models more professional: Nikon D90 or Nikon D300 or Canon EOS 40D, Canon EOS 50D ($ 1000 +). I would say that if you have experience in photography or film SLR or DSLR before. Between Canon and Nikon, it's a personal preference. There is no better than the full otro Marco.: These are more expensive than most machines in the world and will last about as far as your first car for the entire system, do not recommend it because if they were on the market for these I am sure it was not the questions here at Yahoo Answers, you would take professional photographs for a living. * NOTE: Canon and Nikon are the two largest and best companies in terms of cameras. Canon, by far the head when it comes to aim and shoot. By reflex, it is questionable, but I prefer Nikon SLR and I know many who prefer Canon SLR cameras. Remember when you buy a digital SLR you stay with. The lenses are much more important body because the body can always be updated, but the lenses keep forever. I suggest you stay with Canon or Nikon. ** I think Dslr from all what I wrote applies to more. Between Sony and the 450D, the 450D, which should (Rebel XSi). It is around 600 with a target of kit I think if you have 600 just buy the kit lens. Do you need a lot more for extra lenses of good quality. Off camera flash is a must too. If you have a bigger budget and more serious, I suggest to do this one) to buy the XSi Council only 2) buy these three objectives, Canon 70-200 F4 L IS, 85mm f1.2, 17-55 f2.8, 100mm f 2.8 macro 2) You keep Canon 580 Speedlight all these things forever, you can upgrade your body when xsi exceeded.
