Is the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi Digital SLR a good buy for an amateur photographer?

I have the previous version of this camera. I just used point and shoot. I have not gotten to any manual configuration. It is very easy to use and image quality is very good. I chose this camera over others, because my grandfather, who is actually in the photograph and recommended at that time I thought I would need A manual of the camera for a photography class.

Yes they will. So, for Canon dumping their old (but good), on professional cameras in the middle of 1980 and introduced the EOS system .. Now, all the objectives EOS and EOS fit. There is a small problem with EF-S, when used in the Canon Full frame, but at least in form.
