I am a novice and photography is my first SLR. It was a great camera since I bought it two years ago, very easy to use and very powerful. I can not see a better camera when you start like me. There are many cameras better, but I can not justify the cost of the little I know photography.
The software is not very big but work. The only thing wrong with the camera that makes you want go out and start spending too much on lenses and other equipment. I would say that photography is a hobby so very healthy .. it does not go out and take sunset picture great?

For its time and price (at the time), a fantastic camera. 6.3 MP is more than sufficient for most Amateur and semi-pro (not studio) work, and the device works very well with what really matters: the great Canon lenses. Battery life on this unit picture is very good. The period of "trigger" (the time between when you press the button and when the camera takes a photo) is fairly non-existent and the only difference I have is when I'm shooting more RAW photos. As most photographers know, the objective is almost more important than the body, and out of the Leica lens does not believe that nothing really competes with the Canon line. The 18-55 came with this camera is sufficient for casual work … I used it on the beach, and hiking with my dog when I do not want to pay my larger, more expensive, quality lenses higher. But for $ 75 or less, you can have a goal EOS 50mm 1.8, which will complement and 18-55, particularly for night photography.
My only complaint about this camera is its ability to adequately illuminate the darkness meter. When I RAW is not a problem so great, because I can fix it in Photoshop, but especially the fire inside, unless you manually mess with the white balance each time a color is orange interesting for the first 200 shots, and later boring. I had my EOS Digital Rebel for over a year and could not be happier with his performance. I added a handful of food, which provides the weight and vertical picture taking functions, and the camera feels like a professional. I also added a Canon 100-400mm USM offers superb close-ups.
I used the camera on everything from weddings to wildlife to portraits and photos of products I am very pleased results. Wonderfully clear images.
For optimal color, brightness and contrast for prints, however, must use a program to improve the image take the place of corrections normally done by development labs for film photos.
If I had to do Buying a digital today, however, would probably opt for the Digital Rebel XT model which increases the resolution of 8 MB and provides a technology of light day of action.
