Canon Digital Slr Image Stabilization
10 points! Information on rebel XS Digital lenses?

I am looking into getting a Canon Digital Rebel XS or XTI A camera comes with a target EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens Kit in the sealed box and I'm not sure if image stabilization (IS) and the other camera comes with a Canon EF-S 18-55mm f / 3.5-5.6 USM SLR. I think USM is older, but which one is better? the SI or an ultrasonic motor? Also the seller does not know if the first (in the sealed box) is in fact IS a goal all he said was that said EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens in the box. Is this camera model comes with a SI and Non IS lens? any information is useful, thanks! The camera is also a good prof model? I am a decent photographer, but mostly movies. I can not keep pace with the digital age. and it appears that the XS does not come with IS, and society of the lens. and I was not thinking of buying in a store.

The two lenses are almost identical from what I read except the IS (Image Stabilizer). But in that short focal length, SI is less useful with long lenses. Both come with the same type USM and have almost identical quality image. That said, I like going to the sealed box. You never know what happened to the subject that has been opened. The XS is also a newer model.
