Problem with Canon Digital Photo Professional for Mac?

I have recently made the switch from PC to Mac and I have a Canon SLR and use the supplied software with the camera for the management of my images. On my computer when I downloaded the images from my camera into my PC, the images would automatically files determined by the date of capture. However in my Mac is not the case. Instead all the images are just dumped in the "Pictures" leaving me to manually type. Solutions? I am using Digital Photo Professional 3.0.2.6 on Mac OS X. Thank you.

Digital Photo Professional 3.0.2.6 Open, click the name in the menu bar and select "Preferences." Then, look at someting application settings to 'see' or 'display' their files in the order you prefer. You must also be able to configure it to store all your photos wherever you want. TIP: Make sure NO OS X iPhoto actually Control what you see, and showing the photos. It really is a small program annoying!
