which lens are good for canon 450D ?

i have two options for canon 450D.
Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS or Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6. i want to use it for wildlife and bird photography. please suggest me and also write down why each one to choose compare to other one.

I have used Sigma lenses and found they are perfectly good, however I have learned from hard experience that 300 mm is not sufficient for birds and wildlife. Unless you are really good at sneaking up on animals, or can lie in wait in a blind for hours at a time to let the animals/birds come to you, 300mm doesn’t usually cut it. You will want at least 400 mm and that is barely acceptable. Go out and rent a 600 or larger lens, use a heavy tripod (the lens is heavy and you cannot avoid shake) and hide yourself in the brush.

In the choices you list above, there is no significant advantage between the 250 and 300 on the telephoto end, however, on the wide angle end the Canon gives you more coverage and IS. Go for the Canon and understand you have to buy/rent a longer lens for the wildlife.
