Should I choose a wide angle lens of the camera or normal?

I was looking for a digital camera for some time and now I'm especially looking Canon ELPH series, it seems that the cameras are high quality. I lean toward the SD880, but I'm not sure the time with her. I have only one question what purpose would be better, a wide-angle 28mm or 35mm normal.
