What is the best point and shoot digital camera to buy?

I broke my Canon SD400 Elph & I'm thinking about switching to Nikon because that is what my SLR. I like various models Coolpix, but I am open to other cameras of good quality. My limit is $ 400. 6 MP + and I want a zoom Optical high, not to mention good manual functions (ISO, options, etc.) and want a nice LCD, great in the back. Suggestions anyone?
