About a Canon Powershot SD300 Elph digital camera…?

I developed a few pictures recently, and I noticed that they were pretty dull, especially when compared to pics taken by other digital cameras (Sony brands). I don’t have my instruction manual anymore so I was wondering if anyone knows what settings to change on the camera so the pics will be vibrant and brighter? Thanks!

I have a Canon SD1000 Digital Elph Camera. Will a 4GB SDHC card work in it? It calls for a SD card.?
