Just bought Canon SD960. Love photo quality. It seems longer than last ELPH to take a picture: 2-3 sec?

Most cameras allow you to see your subject – the expression, the smile, the reaction – and take the shot. Is there a feature that may be taking longer than normal – I've lost some good "smiles" because of the long shutter lag before the picture actually snaps.

Pressing the shutter button the camera takes time to focus, adjust brightness, etc, before firing the shot. But you can make the camera do everything by pressing the shutter button halfway. tighten the shutter button can be done in two stages. Pressing halfway prepare the camera for the shot. After preparation it will beep. Then they say the cheese. Now press the shutter button the rest of the journey will take the picture instantly. (You can find these things in the manual)
