Canon Elph Mac
2 questions about my Canon PowerShot A70?
My grandfather recently died and he gave me his camera (a Canon PowerShot A70) My dad has A Canon PowerShot Elph so I can work it pretty well.
1: When the camera is turned on, the white settings in the corners are fine, but the screen is black in the middle and more purple torwards the outer part of the screen, its the same on video, picture and the viewing option, so that means there is something wrong w/ the lens, correct? Is there a way to fix this?
2: When I connect my camera to see if the pictures I took would show up on the computer (it will flash for pics and playback sound on vids on the camera) but when connected to my mac it wont pop-up to show me it read there was a camera connected and I disconnected it unproperly to see if the “Device was Disconnected’ message would pop-up, it didn’t, the camera was turned on when it was connected and I just have no idea whats wrong, do you know how to help me?
PLEASE!!! I just want it to work! 10 pts!
Question #1: the crucial point is this: does the coloring only show up on the display screen or is it actually on the IMAGES, too, when you view them on the computer? If it is screen only, it doesn’t matter. If it is images, it could be lens or more likely could be the sensor. Now it gets very expensive to fix, probably cheaper to buy a new camera.
Question # 2: Don’t bother with cables or special software!
The easiest and best method to download photos and video from your camera to your computer is via a little USB card reader (which are quite cheap these days).
Plug the reader into a USB port and insert the memory card.
It will show up as a drive, and you can simply drag and drop the photos across to the folder of your choice.
