The differences are only in the megapixel video. The Canon PowerShot SD780 IS has a huge image sensor of 12 megapixels, while the Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS has only one image sensor of 10 megapixels. If you are an observer megapixels, this may be enough for you to go for the SD780 IS, but is not enough difference to base its final decision.

However, the Canon PowerShot SD780 IS has the ability to capture HD video at 1280×720 pixels and 30 frames per second. It is the ability same video format and some cameras much purpose.

Therefore, if you want to be able to display your pocket camera video on your HD TV with excellent quality, the Canon PowerShot SD780 IS is the camera for you. An additional $ 40 set at source level.
