Canon Elph Wide Angle
Wide angle lens on a regular vs Canon ELPH point and shoot camera?

I need help with getting a new camera. I * that * I reduced the Canon Elph SD 970 and SD 980 Elph Canon. The 980 has a focal length of 4.3 (W) – 21.5 (T) mm f/2.8-f/5.9 (35mm equivalent: 24 (W) – 120 (T) mm), which he said is a wide angle lens the 970 has a focal length of 6.6 33.0mm f/3.2-5.8 (35mm film equivalent: 37-185mm) my question is, do I need a big lens angular? I pretty much going to use to take pictures of my three years of age and all its activities. Do not know much about cameras, so to speak in laymen terms:)

Go with the 980, which is marginally better. However, realize that both are only tiny P & Ss with all the limitations that come with them, but if has to be one like that, then I went with a Canon, too (or Nikon). You get annoyed at the shutterlag when you keep on missing the shots of her daughter, and not as low-light performance (ie, noise / grain when you do not have enough light). However, all is well, so unless you go to a DSLR digital, you do not really get away from problems. Quite a few of the limitations can be overcome – or at least better – to learn a bit about photography. Read the manual several times, attend a class, borrow some books and search online for tutorials. I can guarantee you that some knowledge will help you make the most your camera, any of them end up buying.
