The Canon EOS 40D is the new Canon digital SLR Canon EOS 30D replaces popular. Initially, the EOS 40D appears to be an update days somewhat limited a popular model, not several exciting new features that make it much better.

The new Canon EOS 40D features a CMOS sensor format 10 megapixel APS-C and a new DIGIC III image processor. Even the reduction technology dust in the Canon EOS 400D Rebel / XTi, found their way into the 40D. Other notable improvements to provide more and more series Canon's flagship 40D EOS-1D. The menu system now uses the loudspeaker system as its more expensive brothers 1D 1Ds. The 40D now supports the RAW image capture and sRAW, with a change in the previous 12-bit for 14-bit RAW impressive. This is possible using a single DIGIC III processor is the same now used in the EOS 1D. Improved autofocus system with cross-type AF points F5.6 or faster and EF-S. A larger, brighter viewfinder is included in updating, with the possibility to choose between several different screens focus. Following in the footsteps of the EOS 1D, 40D has a large screen 3 inch LCD finally Live-View. The frame rate is also improved 6.5 fps, but will not always be obtained from performance tests.

A of the first things I noticed was the ergonomics of this particular aircraft. Just feels "good" hand. For a sneak XTi / XSI user to update Rebel models, which benefit from improved imediata the sense of isolation of the rebels. Quality construction is higher, and Canon has finally seen fit to incorporate the time the doors close around the battery compartment. Another thing you note is the noise shutter. much quieter than previous models xxd. One of the most enjoyable is the inclusion of the current configuration ISO in the viewfinder and top LCD. It seems that Canon has finally listened to those who want this feature.

The EOS 40D provides remarkably well in performance tests. The 10-megapixel CMOS combined with the new DIGIC III image processor is an ideal system. In tests with Canon EOS 30D and a competency model, the Nikon D200, an extension of the dynamic range cameras are very evident, especially in areas of shadow. RAW images are generally very strong at the right of the camera. Canon developed a reputation for images without noise, and the 40D did not stop issue. The ISO 1600 and ISO 3200 images are relatively noise free, and certainly been helpful in most situations. There is an option for reducing noise new provision eliminates the color noise.

The EOS 40D is by all accounts a very nice SLR and a worthy successor to the EOS 30D.
