Background
Although some types of digital cameras have their origin in a corresponding type of film cameras (Eg digital cameras SLR DSLR "for the film single lens reflex reflex digital rangefinders rangefinders movies, etc.), cameras with live preview also derived from electronic (video) television cameras.
Until 1995, most digital cameras do not have live preview, most digital cameras SLR did not have that yet, because it is fundamentally incompatible with the swinging mirror single-lens reflex mechanism. Early digital cameras with an LCD screen and live preview were Casio QV-10 and a Ricoh RDC-1995. The first digital SLR to use the display Live has been set Objective Olympus E-10, since 2000, the first interchangeable lens digital SLR to use the live view was the Canon EOS 20Da, a special version of the Canon EOS 20D and modified for astrophotography. The first general objective lens digital SLR with interchangeable view Live was the Olympus E-330, 2006.
Compact and bridges, low and high-end cameras with live preview
Live-preview cameras include two different categories, but not so different: bridges digital and compact digital cameras. Bridges are generally higher Advanced and range (very full), covenants high (better quality of construction) and significant.
DSLRs, usually without Hearing live preview
When considering the advantages and disadvantages of digital SLRs, the comparison is usually among the best device Photo bridge, and the smaller and less expensive digital SLR, the most we can say on this subject is discussed in the bridge section. Check especially More Articles in this section:

A comparison between compact and digital SLRs, it would really a very mixed in terms of size, weight, price, capacity and image quality.
Almost all cameras and compact modern bridges video mode, while DSLR not offer this option until the Nikon D90 was released in August 2008. SLRs have faster performance than other cameras in many areas (eg, the startup time, shutter lag time of release, the continuous mode, focus automatic), which is not a characteristic of type digital SLR, but simply the enhanced functionality of more expensive models cameras. Therefore DSLRs are more suited to situations such as sports or action photography, where a split second delay between pressing the shutter and exposure can cause failure at the right time. Cameras with larger sensors work better than cameras with small sensors in low light with less noise in the optical image; digital SLR sensors are larger than most digital SLRs are not resulting in better images. No camera DSLR sensors available large, like the Sony R1, Sigma DP1 and Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1/GH1.
Reflex Digital Live Preview
Live-preview functionality is becoming increasingly common in digital SLR cameras, and from mid-2008, almost all Digital SLR cameras have a new function. The following is a partial list of digital SLRs with Live Preview:
Canon 20Da, 40D, 50D, 450D, 500D, 1000D, 1D Mark III, 1Ds Mark III, 5D Mark II, 7D, 1D Mark IV
Leica Digilux 3
Nikon D90, D300, D300, D700, D5000, D3, D3x
Olympus E-10, E-20, E-330, E-410 E-420, E-450, E-510, E-520, E-620, E-30, E-3
Panasonic DMC-L1, DMC-L10
Sony Alpha A300, A330, A350, A380, A500, A550 and
Pentax K20D, K-7, Kx
Samsung GX-20
live preview in some or all of these cameras is not conventionally generated (the image formed by the lens, either directly or not is continuously projected on the main sensor). Also Live Preview of DSLR rarely serve as the primary means of developing and previewing before taking a picture. (In SLRs, having a view reflected in the optical OVF (optical viewfinder) for this purpose and is a live preview additional functionality).
Although technology has advanced preview, and that by March 2008, it is perfectly live preview digital SLR camera as fixed lens. The Key questions focusing slow and the lack of screen exposure priority. Some digital SLRs that achieve the standard approach in the phase detection sensor used in digital SLRs, none showed a coverage of 100% as conventional digital cameras, eliminating the main advantage of the light live preview for optical viewfinders. In addition, coverage viewfinders 100% optical have become more common and affordable with the advent of the Nikon D300, Olympus E-3 and Pentax K-7.
