Canon EOS 50D SLR is better than Canon SLR EOS 7D?

Hello, I am a semi-pro photography, and I understand that both are semi-pro SLR. So I was wondering, which is the best camera / features / etc more settings 3MP 7D I know is bigger than the 50D, a 18MP wonderful! And also, is 8 fps while the 50D is only 3.6. I'm thinking that the 7D is worth the extra $ 700 but would like some more opinions! Thanks! Also, I'm more in photgraphy outside (birds, fauna, landscape, etc.) and weddings, not so much the portraits and pets, so on that note, the camera has to be good with moving objects. I've heard Many people using SLR can get amazing photos of birds, and that's what I'm really interested in!
