Canon EOS 7D – how to compare their sensor to 3CCD?
Hi, I’m applying for a film fund that requires filmmakers to shoot their projects with 3CCD camcorders, but I’ve used a DSLR camera Canon EOS 7D before and I want to use this camera for visual effect.
Can someone help me understand if I use the Canon EOS 7D, will I be fullfilling the requirements for the grant? what the difference between Canon EOS 7D 22.3 × 14.9 mm CMOS sensor to a 3CCD?
Many thanks in advance for your help!;)
Thank you all for your comments – very useful stuff
@Sabot03196 – the commissioner has agreed that Cnon EOS 7D should do. Can you explain further what kind of problems you had in the post? The deliverable they are demading is DV Cam Master tape in 16:9 widescreen format. Will I have any problems with the output? Many thanks, again!
The 3CCD camera will give better images than a single CCD camera. I do not think that you would be getting an advantage by using your 7D. However, to be on the safer size, please clarify, so that all your potential hard work is not disqualified merely on a technicality. You know how it is – some one in the judging committee may disqualify you just because you did not follow the ‘rules’.
Take care and all the best.
