Can someone tell me which camera is better for my needs?
I’m looking at 2 specific cameras, one a bit pricier, but both are admirably acknowledged…I mostly want/need a camera that records video rather and significantly well, but also when I’m not filming, I’d need it to have great image quality. I know both of the cameras I’m considering can deliver, in different aspects, but after reading review after review and comparison after comparison, I’ve become totally and overwhelmingly confused. Can someone just simply tell me which would be better AND why? …or if you’d recommend a different camera even! I’d appreciate that too! I have a budged of 2,250(ish) dollars just for the camera body (only), and the two I’m considering so far are below budget, but I’m not NEEDING to be below budget, necessarily. I can even splurge a little, if I must…but anyway, the two cameras I’ve been scoping out now are the:
Nikon D7000
and the
Canon EOS 7d
Please, feel free to suggest something different or give me any information whatsoever!
Consumer level HD camcorders have 3 problems. 1) Blurry, fuzzy, out of focus areas closely around people in videos taken by consumer level HD camcorders. 2) Any movement, even a wave or lifting an arm, while in front of a recording consumer level HD camcorder, results in screen ghosts and artifacts being left on the video track, following the movement. Makes for bad video, sports videos are unwatchable. 3) Mandatory maximum record times – 1 hour, 30 minutes, 8 minutes, 3 minutes – four different times advertised as maximum record time for some consumer level HD camcorders. No event I have ever been to is that short. Either take multiple camcorders or pack up with out getting the end of the event on video.
With a MiniDV tape camcorder, record 60 or 90 minutes ( camcorder settings), 90 seconds or less to change a tape and record for 60 or 90 more and repeat till you run out of tapes.
