Anything to do with Canon Digital Cameras and Lenses

Canon Eos Digital Slr Rebel Xt
Should I buy the Canon EOS Rebel XT for $ 600 or the Rebel XTi for $ 800?

I have a point and shoot digital camera and willing to upgrade to a DSLR digital. Now that the 400 (EOS XTi is out) the 350 has seen a nice price drop ~ $ 600. Do you think the extra features worth the extra $ 200? Or is that extra $ 200 better spent on lenses? I am already "invested" to remain loyal to Canon, because I have several objectives compatible EOS A2, Nikon so going is not something I would go with.

Keex pretty much sums up the characteristics, and I agree with his assessment (and I think it should spend the extra money). What I will add: Two years from now, will be happier than you bought the XTi, or the content of continuing to use the Rebel XT? I am assuming they are quite responsible with their money, and therefore is not likely to go out and buy a new camera every year during Christmas. With this mindset, the XTi will be a respectable camera longer, and $ 200 today may be worth not having to buy another camera soon in the future. [I'm also assuming that the lens buy, as some Canon lenses is one of the nicest Image Stabilization, which cost more than $ 1,000, so the extra $ 200 is not going so far ...]
