The choice between a digital camera …..?

I'm looking to buy a new digital camera, but funds are tight little atm was like my last was stolen last week with my cell phone. One of these is the Canon PowerShot 60-6 3x optical zoom MP Camera Optio L20 Pentax or – 7 megapixels 3x optical zoom. These two I found for 200 pounds. There is also a Fujifilm camera for 150 pounds (same features as the Canon above). I'm familiar with Pentax cameras but are not familiar with what is a good brand for cameras. Ideas? Or Room other suggestions. Also note that I am looking for a camera battery that uses lithium batteries lasting below normal and are more hassle to load.

If you are looking at the Fuji-I hope it's the F20 or F30. in both image quality, more just the same manual controls and a higher resolution LCD on the F30. The Ixus 60 (aka SD600 for those on the left side of the lagoon) is a good camera. It works well in many situations and it is small and cute. You pay a little more for the name of Canon but you have excellent image processing and measurement in a wide variety of conditions. The Fuji F30 is probably the top compact digital camera around. It has 2-3 stops better high ISO performance (low light sensitivity) – so you can take pictures indoors without flash (and dreaded red eyes and wash it looks). In addition, if you're worried about battery life, the Fuji can take over 580 pictures on one charge, by far the best in the business. The Fuji is king in the light of commitments, but it takes a little fiddle to get the best photos in the sunlight outside. Therefore, if you're willing to learn to use the camera, make a little exposure compensation, metering change modes, white balance and be well informed about your leaving the ISO for you to choose the device that has a much greater potential for higher quality images. But in certain circumstances, it takes a good photographer to get the most out of the camera.
