Should I consider updating my Canon Ixus 75 compact camera to a newer model?

I bought a Canon Ixus 75 over one year on the basis of a recommendation from a friend who usually pretty clued up on this sort of thing. It has been very good so far, but I've noticed Canon have continued to add to the Ixus range, and wondered if it's worth looking at getting a higher number. Is anyone familiar enough with the range to offer a idea beyond what I can find to examine some of the specifications are soulless online?
