Canon Ixus 8015
My computer doesnt do anything when I connect my camera?

I have a Canon IXUS 8015, and a few days ago I wanted to put some photos on my computer so I connected it and everything worked. But now when I connect it, it makes the sound meaning something has been connected, but when I go to My Computer it’s not there, and when I click on ‘connect to my camera’ in the actual camera program it says ‘Camera not Detected’.

This software problem is very common. It seems regardless of the maker camera software really doesn’t work very well.

The simple solution is to get a card reader. Windows will see a reader as a drive so you just copy / paste your files to your hard drive.

No extra software or hassle required.

Does a Canon Ixus 8015 have good video quality for showing on TV? I also need sound from a distance?

It only has VGA quality, not HD quality for TV. Its little microphone will not do a good job recording low sound (the distance doesn’t matter). You really need a decent camcorder.
