Canon Ixus i7 "Change the battery?

I fully charged the camera, given a couple of shots and the next time I used it, the change battery package appeared. When I closed the camera and opened again, it worked well. This has happened from time to time since then – long before the low battery signal appears. I've only had this camera for a month, so I do not know why he is acting now. Any answers or suggestions much appreciated. Thanks! =)
