Canon Ixus Camera Price
what camera should i get and why?
Canon ixus 100 or Canon ixus 120
both look similar to me but with a price difference..
I like them because they a small and descrete but seem to have good features.
Im looking for good quality photos and hd video.

I would have a very slight preference for the 120 because it has the wider lens with more zoom.
Please read the reviews below from Ken Rockwell to decide for yourself.

Tripods are considered non-essential camera accessories for average photographer, but they are an absolute must for professional photographer.
The quality of professional photographs deteriorates rapidly if hands shake during the clicking process and to some extent that does happen. In fact now a days most professional photographers use tripod which is connected to camera and the remote controlled clicker so there is no interference from any motion.
For close photography &/or portrait photography, tripods serve great purpose and add to the quality of pictures. The more you zoom in on an object, the more sensitive digital cameras become to movement, in this scenario tripod is perfect solution avoiding those micro movement and rendering excellent pictures.
In old days, tripods used to be heavy, cumbersome and difficult to take along, however now a days there are wonderful tripods which are compact, can be folded into your shoulder bag and amazingly light weight. They are usually made of aluminum and based on the model type can carry weight of up to 15lbs. You can purchase tripod from any major electronics retailer or you can go online and purchase it. I myself, prefer to purchase online as I have chance to look at different reviews written by customers. The cost of average tripod is anywhere between $10 to $50. There are higher end tripods available, but for an average use you can find one within the price range mentioned above. One of my favorite store is amazon.com – where you can find all sorts of different tripods.

What is the best SLR camera on a budget of £300?
I don’t really want to spend more than £300 on a camera.
What good SLR cameras could i get on that sort of budget?
I want to go travelling around Europe so will use it on my travels. At the moment i’m using a Canon ixus camera, which is general use. It has an amazing battery life so i’d like an SLR camera which will last for a good few hours.
I’ve heard that Canon, Nikon and Olympus are good makes.
As i love my current canon so much i think i’m likely to opt for another Canon.
Would also be good if i can record with it too, which i think you can on most modern cameras.
Please can you give all prices in GBP if possible.
Many thanks
Check out the offerings from Olympus. Olympus will give you more for you money and still have cameras in the same price band as the Nikon D40. You could find an E-510 for around that price with features such as live view, auto focus and image stabilization in the body, features you won’t get from Nikon. Olympus is just as much quality as Nikon or Canon, a true camera/imaging company. The E-510 is an older model, having been replaced by the e-520. However, you can still find some new in camera shops, at good discounts. You could also look for a used one and save big.
