How can I make my Canon Ixus 85IS camera use less memory?

I have a Canon Ixus 85 IS and I noticed it uses a lot of memory, I know it is a 10 mega pixel camera so will use more but I can’t put burn most of my pictures together on to CD’s where with my old camera I could! How can i make it use less memory without downgrading the picture quality to? I can’t find my user manual!! thanks!!

You will be much better off shooting at the highest size and quality and downsizing in your editing program. You can always make a file smaller but you can’t make them bigger. If you shoot at lower resolution your stuck with it. If you get that one shot you want to make a poster out of you wont be able to if you shoot at a smaller size.
