Canon Ixus Chargers
I have a Canon Ixus 50, but the charger has a plug and I have to get heavy weight. Any ideas?

I'm making a journey lasting about five to six weeks and I want to keep my pack weight down. I have been in contact with Jessops and Canon both themselves and seem to be no alternative to the specified charger. Any other ideas? The camera itself is no problem.

My guess is that the plug heavy weighs no more than a few ounces of water and in the end only added their resistance. I recently conducted two DSLR with battery grips, three lenses and memory cards with the chargers for both my laptop and cameras in a nine and a half week trip. The complete package weighed less than 20 pounds. The few oz saved by a small plug would not seem to matter much. Going from tour, many of us have 65 and bounds in the back throughout the day (the weight is reduced as consume bottled water.) Are you trying to save weight when using air lines of business? In that case, you should know that all the camera equipment has to be with you in the aircraft cabin at all times. NEVER check cameras or laptops. Hand luggage (backpack with a computer and cameras) is not usually heavy.

Can load a Canon Ixus 105 by connecting to the computer?

I left the actual battery charge in the care of my cousin and lost, I have no free time and want to try everything before you go and buy a new one! The unit comes with a USB cable to connect to a computer, this charge my camera?

The USB cable is used to transfer the image from the camera to a computer that do not load the camera. Thus, the charger must be used in this case.
