I am currently looking for a camera that shd be affordable and good. Is the Canon IXUS 950 IS good model?

What other alternatives that cost less than $ 600? Fujifilm What?

I have DSLR and IXUS 950. I am satisfied as the second IXUS camera. Small digital cameras will not professinal quality, but 1. they are cheap, 2. No need to learn many things. In addition to the IXUS camera is quite small, so you can put in a pocket. The video is not perfect, but pleasant enough for a small camera. As for alternatives, I would take a look at Sony. The problem is that Sony uses proprietary format flash cards are more expensive. Read more reviews for ZDNet. And do not look megapixels, is the physical size of the array that is really important.
