Which of the above would you choose and why and any ideas of better ones than those…….

What is it with these companies not putting on Optical viewfinders on camera’s. But witht these two they are very very similar. I would prob lean towards the Canon just due to name. Just be weary of the size of the LCD displays. Although technology has improved they are still very battery hogging. Back to the optical zoom i must say without it you will find it harder to get a steady shoot because you can’t rest it against your face. The face detection on the Ixus is awesome, one of those features in a camera you will acually use. In all honesty you will not regret buying the Ixus. Hope you have fun with your new toy.
