Broken camera help!!?

Ive dropped and broken my mums canon ixus 30 digital camera last night. It will turn on to look at pics/videos but wen u turn it to take photo or video it turns off.
Does anyone kno if it can b fixed?? can i fix it myself or will it have 2 b taken 2 camera shop for repair??

It sounds like your mum does not yet know about the damage. The camera will have to go in for repair they are too complicated to fix yourself. You may be covered for the damage if you have contents insurance, this may be your saving grace.
