Canon IXUS 800 Repair needed?

I have a Canon IXUS 800 that was purchased in Italy while on holidays earlier this year, this past weekend It was droped and the lens is broke/jammed and will not close. I’m located in Ireland and my local camera shop will not take it because I did not purchase it there. Would anyone know where I could possible send it to for repair in Ireland or The UK? Thank You.

You have run into the Grey market problem. Your best bet is to send it to Canon in Italy, unless that was not the destination market. I realize that is inconvenient. You would need to produce a receipt with your name and address on it. You will need to contact canon UK and apply for an exception to the Grey market policy. Tell them that you had another canon that you took on your trip and was lost or stolen, so you bought another one in country. They are going to want to know why you did not purchase one for the Euro market. If that camera is an Asian market camera. you are out of luck on getting it repaired. All major camera makers implemented similar policies.

Help! My digital camera is broken!?

I have a digital camera, a Canon Ixus 8515 and for some reason, the objective blocked all the way but I do not understand how it happened. Anyway, every time you turn it on, makes a strange noise, like if the struggle for the elimination of the lens, then beeps twice and the screen goes black and says "error goal. Restart camera" then turns off. Thus, although I tried to restart several times to do this. do not know why and I really appreciate it if someone can help me. I need to be fixed for Saturday, where my parents are likely to demand. If I can not fix my account, I thought to go and get repair, but do not know how much it costs. So I really need your help! Thank you in advance
