Help Telescope – 8 "vs 10"?

Hey, I've had my current telescope three years and I'm looking for an upgrade. I've been wanting after the Celestron C8 SGT some time, but now I've come through the nasogastric tube that I can C10 can buy some more. I know that the opening is the main deciding on a purchase, but is 2 "really that much of a difference? My current lens / eyepiece kit is 25 mm so it fits in the C8, but not the C10 and I would have to buy new glasses / eye too. Also, I'm buying a Canon Rebel T1i and enter my next astrophotography scope and I am aware that the C10 puts more weight on the stand that the C8. If you go to these links and press specifications you can see the scope comparison: C8 http://www.celestron.com/c3/product.php ? ProdID = 60 # C10 http://www.celestron.com/c3/product.php?ProdID=63 idTab3 So you think you should go for? Thank you very much, very much in advance:)

He was for the "8. While the 10" will make things better as a double star separation and limiting magnitude, its usefulness as a platform for the camera is as good as the 8 "would be. With SCT, options like focal reducers, mounting rails (adding governing areas) are much easier for bolts on, as the mounting holes already in the body OTA. The 10 "need not (I think, have to check to be sure). The other thing with the 10" is that the eye will continue off the ground. Depending on the height of his body, this could mean having to use a small ladder to reach the eyepiece. Good luck with your choice!
