Canon Lenses Images
What lenses should I get for my DSLR?

I recently bought the Canon 1000D with a basic objective (55-200mm) that I would invest in another target, perhaps something that provides clearer pictures? I'm not into long distance zoom. I take a lot of portraits of fashion models, people, clothes … etc. Also Sometimes I take pictures sports, so maybe the lenses that can capture images quickly would be good. I follow the school so the budget has to be reasonable! Thanks!

For portrait-photos of people, a slight telephoto is good (do not distort the nature of the way to a wide angle lens would be). The first 85 mm (without zoom) lens is / was considered the industry standard for portraits. They can be a bit pricey. If you are on a budget, then a first objective 50 mm (either f1.8 or f1.4) is a good lens. They are fast (which means that let in lots of light) and sharp. Lens not capture images quickly – the camera does that. But obviously, a "fast lens (see above) allow you to use a faster shutter speed. Also should read a book about photography (either from the library or bookstore). They will explain all this better than me.
