CANON EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Objective – 'sv – Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM what is the difference?

Can someone explain to me (in plain English, I am a novice), what exactly is the difference between these two Canon lenses and why is # 2 so much more expensive, is much better?? 1) Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM (http://cgi.ebay.com/CANON-EF-70-300mm-f-4-5-6-IS-USM-Telephoto-Zoom-Lens_W0QQitemZ140198461556QQihZ004QQcategoryZ30066QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem ) 2) Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM (http://cgi.ebay.com/CANON-EF-70-300mm-f-4-5-6-DO-IS- USM-Telephoto-Zoom-Lens_W0QQitemZ140199847047QQihZ004QQcategoryZ30066QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem ) Thank you.

The main difference is that the latter has diffractive optics – hence the DO. This is what Canon says about it: Both http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=CanonAdvantageTopicDtlAct&id=2632 The lenses are tested here: http://www.photozone.de/reviews His conclusion is that the DO does not justify the price jump to the non-DO. BTW they are both full-frame lenses. I hope this will help.

Good T1i Canon lenses?

I'm looking to get a camera lens news. I am very interested in the 17-40mm f / 4 L USM Canon, but I'm curious if there are lenses out there on the beach $ 700 – $ 800 this objective, but up to 55 mm or more. I need the bottom of 20 mm or less, but I want some zoom to it too. My biggest concern is the quality of the image and if are not comparable in terms of quality of the lens does not interest me. Is this the only goal in the price range with excellent quality?

17-40mm f / 4 is an excellent choice. Also consider the 17-55mm f/2.8 IS is like having a relationship with "Quality Objectives image and L is the favorite target of many an owner of a Canon. Http: / / the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-EF-S-17-55mm-f-2.8-IS-USM Lens-A-Review.aspx small drawback is that it is an EF-S and will not be compatible with FF if you decide to upgrade the models. Seeing that you just leave your camera I do not see what you do in the near future, plus the resale value of these lenses is more or less what you paid for it again ..
