Deciding between an EOS 450D or Canon 500D help?

Http: / / www.jessops.com / online.store / products / 77408/show.html and any views on these SLR cameras? any other recommendation?

Personally, I'd go with the 500D. Do not get me wrong, the 450D is great (I have one), but you are giving the capacity of high-definition video and MP 3 for a telephoto zoom lens without stabilization imgage mediocre. A 300 mm, are rolling either really bright lights or have to put the camera on a tripod – or both. There is nothing wrong with putting your camera on a tripod, which is another element have to drag around in order to obtain comparable / images sharp. There are much better zoom around with additional information for the least money. And video, I find recording live concerts a thing of beauty.
