Canon Lenses Professional
What is the best Canon camera to buy?
I need to buy a good camera for gcse art, and i really like the ones with the chunky lenses cause they look quite professional… any recommendations on which one to get? I heard Canon and Nikon are good brands. Thanks x
If you want to look like a photographer, you have to just choose any Nikon or Canon.
If you want to be a photographer, then read this and armed with the information choose a camera … Since both are what the pros use, you will have to research to see which camera suits your style of shooting.
I would think that buying a good used Nikon or Canon SLR with standard zoom lens for under $200 wouldn’t be a big deal … what does your photo instructor say?

What canon lens can zoom from a far distance with a $500 budget? Or is the canon softfocus lens good enough?
I’m not a professional, so I’m asking this.. and asking makes me learn. I’m trying to get nice shots of people from far away distances, if that’s possible. What kind of canon lenses can do that under $500? I’ve been also thinking of buying the softfocus lens that canon has, is that good?

Do not get a soft focus lens. You can get a lens with far more zoom ability.
Mininum, I would get a zoom lens that can go up to 200mm, but better would be something that can go higher.
I would seriously consider an lens made to work with Canon by one of the respected independent lens makers like Tamron or Sigma.
Here are a few zoom ranges to consider:
(one of these first 3 lenses often make a really good all in one lens)
*18-200mm (starts at 18mm giving wide angle as well as telephoto)
*18-250mm (starts at 18mm giving wide angle and additional telephoto)
*18-270mm (starts at 18mm giving wide angle and additional telephoto)
*55-200mm (this and a short zoom make a good set)
*55-200mm (this and a short zoom make a good set)
*75-300mm (this and a short zoom make a good set, plus this provides more telephoto)
Below I provided some links, the first is a search on B&H Photo’s website that lists lenses that could be of interest, it is filtered to try and display just want will be of interest but there will be some mix in there. There are also customer reviews which could be very informative. I listed two other seller sites that have customer reviews and photo.net that is a large online photo community that includes articles, reviews, and discussion forums. The discussion forums has various areas and you can find other Canon DSLR owners and gain from their experience.
Hope this help.
