Canon Lenses Stabilization
How are the lenses work?

How Canon image stabilizing lenses work? Or any other brand for that matter?

IS / VR lens uses a floating element that moves orthogonally to the optical axis of the lens. Stabilization is achieved by compensating motion detected by angular velocity sensors, often known as gyro sensors and accelerometers in some cases. A gyroscope is a device that turns a constant state using any type of laser measuring device that measures changes in the shaft due to movement. While turning, will tend to resist the force of gravity, the creation of inertia, or the amount of resistance to change in velocity. A microprocessor keeps track of these changes through an A / D, sometimes known as an FPGA or programmable gate array field, which handles all the analog inputs to turn it into ones and zeros that are understood by the CPU. The CPU who played data and decide how compensation is to be applied to the electromagnets to physically change the floating element inside the lens. That was the technical explanation. An easier way to see the top would remember from childhood. A senior is a simple form of a gyroscope rotor type. In turn, the centrifugal force will keep upright, its inertia will allow the movement to resist the forces placed on it. If a spin on a level surface will remain upright. If surface slope will be maintained in an upright position while maintaining contact with the surface. This helps create a level platform regardless of movement along the axis. There are very small gyroscopes in a VR / IS lens. A computer measures the strength required to maintain a constant orientation, and compensates by moving a special lens element that varies the point where the light is focused to the optical axis of the lens. If the lens moves slightly to the right, the element moves slightly simultaneously left to compensate. Viola …

A few weeks ago I went with my friends to see an air show. The schedule was packed with acrobatics and many types of aircraft. The highlight of the show was the blue angles routines hazardous to aircraft. I took my camera hoping to capture some good digital memories exhibition.

I took my digital SLR camera at the air show. I put my bag on special camera with an extra battery and lentils. I used an SLR eight mega pixel digital optical Zoon 100-300mm.

I decided to shoot as many photos I could hear from my experience that in these cases, the rule of large numbers works well – Shoot as many pictures as you can and you may be able to find a couple of images that are truly unique. Then, when the planes started flying around me says my camera toward them and this time, I saw most shows air through my camera.

I put my camera to continuous focus automatic. I had my finger holding the shutter most of the time while I move the camera to take the planes fly at high speed. I could hear the engine working hard chamber moving the optical components of the lens from side to side to maintain the right approach. I also set the camera to burst mode for each time the members decided it was worth a photo that sparked a sequence Quick four photographs. The idea behind this was the first to get more pictures to choose from – a quick way to fly planes four pictures have been very different – and the second may be able to capture movements in a sequence of images.

Over time my hands are tired of holding the camera and my grip was not as stable as more stable. By Unfortunately I not bring a tripod – and I probably have not used, even if I did, because it is difficult to track aircraft flying over a particular with thousands of people walking around. When I saw the pictures I saw in the evening the results of my tired hands – digital photos later were not as strong and constant, as above.

When I saw the results of my work my reaction was to get these fancy glasses with a high-image stabilizer them. There are two types of image stabilization moves the sensor and one that actually uses gyroscopes to move a floating optical element that compensates for the tremors. The latter is more expensive and offer better results. I saw people walking around Image Stabilizer Canon Zoom I do not know to what extent it has been for them, but it sure looked impressive.

There are also disadvantages use of image stabilizers and even some of these disadvantages are very important for my photo shoot performance. Removal erratic cameras to track a stabilizer aerobatic plane can be confused picture that can detect earthquakes of this movement as unwanted and therefore try to compensate. If I had an image stabilizer, which would have had to resort to different practices when shooting my photos as if they tried turn the camera on an axis and in a more or less constant speed.

In general, I had the opportunity to select some great photos airplanes flying around doing acrobatics very close to each other, with planes flying birds in what appears to be in the picture as close to digital photos and other devices in different situations. These will serve as a good reminder of what the air and as a lesson to get a better deal on my next show Digital aerial photo shoot.

Sony Alpha 100, XTi, Canon and Nikon D50?

Why is it when you want in many aviation websites that is just a Sony Alpha 100 tons and see someone with guns and Nikon. Did you do it with speed or anything. The Sony has image stabilization built in which I think is as good as Canon IS or VR lenses have nikor. What is wrong with that?

hola .. I have the Sony Alpha … This is my first digital SLR from Sony DSC-F828, Sony …. DSC-H5 and Sony DSC-R1 I'm not a fan of Sony, but do not really know why I'm going with Sony …. whenever you can … Now, after three months Sony Alpha … I am not very satisfied, but I think it does (at least with me coz I am not a serious photographer) … and I realized that: 1.it has a lot of noise above ISO 400 … and I noticed a little noise even at 400 … but when it comes to Nikon and Canon …. r best deal with the high ISO noise ….. Nikon if the noise is better than the alpha, even if r Nikons use Sony sensors ((I'm confused!)) Hits 2.loud ((irritated)) I can not take a picture near all sleeping baby without waking the baby 3.i .. have experience with Sony …. When you buy an appliance Sony camera or stick to the tag Accessories Sony and led to an additional $ spendig or in any way want to buy. Accessories R 4.lense difficult find ((depending on where they live u)). 5.A flexible color system and other controls …. I am convinced … have excellent results ((honostly is not comparable to my father, in some situations Nikon D200)), but still a great performance. U found tons of people using Canon or Nikon coz the 2 brands r the leaders in this field … worked for decades in the SLR .. so that people using r years and can not easily move to a new line or go with a mark of the first edition in DSLR … you needed a couple of years but a few. and if someone read my answer certainly stay away from the alpha and the net is full of comments from users like this …. it is therefore not difficult to understand why the last alpha. but I still think it is a good camera ….. good luck.
