Canon Powershot A1000is
I’m having problems with my Canon Powershot A1000is?

Whenever I turn the camera on and it is in auto mode, the screen is black, although numbers and letters on the side appear. However, when I take a picture, the picture i took then shows up on the screen. Also, when the camera is in easy mode, I can use the screen while taking pictures. I’m assuming I just hit some button, but can anyone help?

You have probably turned off the preview. There are usually several display modes for both the Shooting and Playback mode.

In shooting mode, you can toggle between preview only with no information (no of remaining pictures, and other status icons), preview with information, or no display.

In Playback mode, you can switch between picture only (no information), simple information, detailed information display (with histogram), and Focus Check display.

Try pressing the DISP button several times to cylce between these modes.

Need help??????????????????

I have a Canon PowerShot A1000IS. and I really want to be able to video tape things with it for longer than a few seconds.. It eats up my memory and battery each time I attempt to record something. I am not sure what settings I should use to make the video go longer.

I got a little lecture in conduct from some a-hole on here, so I am reposting this question free from he/she.

Reset the image sensor to the minimum resolution, longer duration = poorer quality.
