I'll take apart a Canon Powershot A550 and remove the IR on the CCD. Can anyone point me towards different internal camera systems or a tutorial on how to do this? I recently lost a Pentax digital camera, try this solution and even if there was a great loss (I have a couple more others), I'd rather not repeat this mistake. On the way, I realize that I 'm not the camera technology. I took the photo shop, however, and not one person in the store (over ten years) had heard about the part I wanted to take, so … And this unit was purchased for this purpose. For real photography, I have a Nikon digital SLR Canon SLR camera, so I am quite prepared to kill a few cheapies in the name of experimentation.

Canon did not used make the service available manuals and other information services for the cameras of this recently not really want people to walk around in them. As a practical course of action, I suggest you keep an eye on Ebay for a model that does not work in this or earlier models (A530, A540). Then distinct parts to the camera and do so well from start to finish (including assembly) before touching your good camera. Thus, at least have an idea of where you go before you start playing with a good camera.
