Canon Powershot A630 Manual
Canon Powershot A630 or A640?
My interest lies in graphic design – I would upload these pictures and either complete them in Photoshop CS2 for a higher-quality look, or pehaps even create abstract images, etc.
I initially thought A640 would be better, since it has a higher resolution (10 mp, as opposed to 8 mp), and more memory.
But A630 is the same otherwise (I think) and is cheaper.
Still, I am stuck. If you have experience or are knowledgable in this subject, which one should I choose? I would like high-quality images, obviously, with manual control. Is the extra $100 worth it, and why or why not?
A petty reason why I’m having a hard time saying no to A640 – I love the color so much more.
The A630 and A640 are basically the same, except that the A640 has an extra two megapixels and has a different body colour.
Here is a quote from a well-known review site…
“I would recommend the A630 for most people, as it performs as well as the A640 in most situations, and it costs $100 less. The only reason to get the A640 would be if you’re doing a lot of high ISO shooting, printing REALLY large-sized prints, or if you want to control the camera from your computer. Whichever camera you end up with, I think you’ll enjoy using it”.
So, I think the A630 would be more than adequate for your needs, and maybe if you intend to crop your photos heavily, then the A640 would be better because it has 10MP to play with.

You may need to wait a few minutes for the list to come up, but it does show the users guide for the camera that you reference.
