Canon PowerShot comparison: A720 IS vs SD890 IS – which is better?
I'm trying to figure out what gives quality photo best – I like take all kinds of movies that include close-ups. I rarely use the flash, so I do not take care of the issues the 720 has that. The 720 has 8MP, 6x zoom and 1/2.5 "CCD, while the 890 has 10MP, 5x zoom and 1/2.3" CCD. Thanks for your help!:-D
These two cameras are a bit different. The SD890 IS is basically a 100% ultra compact point and shoot camera (with manual control very limited) and the A720 IS is fully controls including manual (aperture and shutter priority). While the SD890 IS has a larger sensor marginally, probably will not notice the difference. As regards shooting in low light (without flash), I believe that neither the camera will give satisfaction, because neither has good high ISO capability (which is required for low light, without firing flash). Even at ISO 200 you start getting a lot of noise … so you may have to rethink their options. But either should be fine to shoot perfectly good outdoor lighting. What should I do?
Definitely, the SX 100 IS. The two are very close in the price, however, has 10x zoom SX 100 (very good). And in my opinion, a robust construction quality, as is the case in Japan, if I'm not mistaken.
