Canon Powershot Drivers Download
new computer with Windows XP does not recognize my canon powershot digital.?

I connected my Canon PowerShot A510, but this new computer does not respond at all. I went to the Canon site, and it is said that this particular camera does not need a driver for Windows XP. (When I tried to download one anyway, would not be executed file.) I know very well the connection is working, because it recognizes that the port of other devices when connected. Any ideas? try to install the cd that came camer. Also, try another USB port, such as the back. If nothing else works, return the camera or get in touch with the people from Canon directly. You may have deffective camera. Also, before returning, try to go with friends and see if it works there. Good luck

According to the U.S. Canon web site, "There are no drivers available for this selection. This system operations may not require a driver or are no longer supported. I never bothered to download the drivers that come with cameras Today, you can connect the camera directly via USB cable (supplied is) and XP will see it as a discharge device or via a card reader.
